This week brings a mix of performance, industry dialogue and nightlife, from ballet interpretations of a childhood classic to a four-day music immersion beneath the granite peaks of Spitzkoppe.
Film lovers can also gather for discussions and screenings celebrating Namibian cinema, while those looking for something lighter can still find their usual midweek quizzes, dance classes and social meet-ups.
Here is what’s happening across Windhoek in the days ahead.
Today
The National Ballet School is staging ‘Peter Pan’ at the National Theatre of Namibia tonight and tomorrow at 19h00 and on Saturday at 10h00.
‘Fractal Festival’, a four-day desert music experience with psytrance and electronic dance music across two stages, kicks off today at the Spitzkoppe Mountain Range.
Entry costs range between general admission camping and luxury accommodation packages starting at N$1 200 for four days of music, art and community gathering, camping under the stars, and curated immersive spaces surrounded by the Spitzkoppe Mountain range.
Namibia Film Commission’s ‘The Film Week’, an annual celebration of Namibian creativity, cinematic offerings and industry collaboration across Africa, starts today and will end on Sunday at the Namibia University of Science and Technology’s (Nust) HTTPS Building.
The programme features a carefully curated line-up of film selections complemented by industry panel discussions on niche content creation and film policy framework review among many.
From 10h00 to 18h00 today there will be several local film screenings in auditorium 1 and classroom H.
This Weekend
The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, through the directorate of arts, in partnership with the National Theatre of Namibia, invites all music industry stakeholders to participate in the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) 2026 Industry Stakeholder Engagement Session on 14 March at the Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek from 09h00 to 13h00.
This engagement forms part of a consultation process aimed at strengthening the credibility, inclusivity, and impact of the NAMAs, and will be a platform for the music industry to contribute meaningfully to its future direction and development.
This Sunday, ‘The Film Week’ will host a casting for film masterclass led by Pencilled Casting’s Kulan Ganes at Nust from 10h00.
It will explore the art and business of casting for film, focusing on how the right casting choices bring stories to life.
