Over the past weekend three FNB Classic Clashes games were played in Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo and Outjo.
Otjiwarongo Secondary School and Etosha Secondary School, and Moria Private School and Edugate Academy met on the netball fields, while Tsumeb Gymnasium and Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaat Skool met on the rugby field.
Etosha Secondary School beat their hosts Otjiwarongo 18-15, while Edugate also emerged victorious with 30-27 win against Moria Private School.
FNB’s players of the matches were Ura Garere of Etosha and Sone Kuhn of Edugate Academy. The Namib Mills Heroes chosen were Octavia Tsibes of Otjiwarongo Secondary School for her academics as well as dedication and great behaviour at the school, while Mandie Krone of Moria Private School emerged as the Namib Mills hero for her sport achievements and being a great team leader.
The Namib Mills Hero is chosen by the scholars of the school and they are the best performing players and scholars who are role models in their communities.
In the only rugby game of the weekend, Tsumeb Gymnasium beat WAP 25-13 with Chris-mari Potgieter of Tsumeb Gymnasium being chosen as the Namib Mills Hero while Johan Luttig, also of Tsumeb Gymnasium walked away with the Man of the match award.
