Eshete quits at Dynamos

FORMER Civics and African Stars coach, Anteneh Eshete, resigned as coach of South African Premier League side Dynamos last week, but refused to give reasons for quitting.

Eshete confirmed to the The Namibian Sport yesterday that the reasons were personal and he was not at liberty to say anything. “At the moment, my business manager is handling the matter with the Dynamos management and according to my principles, I don’t discuss the reasons why I left with the media,” he said.He said he was still under contract until the end of the season, and the management of the club now needs to decide if they will officially relieve him and give him his paycheck for the rest of the season or not.”They will let me know by the end of this week what they have decided. From my part, I have done nothing wrong – they made me resign because they did not honour certain issues we agreed upon,” he said.Eshete was given a one-year contract late last season to rescue the club from relegation.”My mission of pulling the club out of relegation has been accomplished.I have already made up my mind that I will not go back there. They already tried to convince me to do it, but I will not go back,” he said.Eshete, who also coached Namibia’s under 17 side, said he was now considering two offers from other PSL sides.”If I don’t get anything here, I will go back home,” said the Ethiopian-born coach.”At the moment, my business manager is handling the matter with the Dynamos management and according to my principles, I don’t discuss the reasons why I left with the media,” he said.He said he was still under contract until the end of the season, and the management of the club now needs to decide if they will officially relieve him and give him his paycheck for the rest of the season or not.”They will let me know by the end of this week what they have decided. They already tried to convince me to do it, but I will not go back,” he said.Eshete, who also coached Namibia’s under 17 side, said he was now considering two offers from other PSL sides.”If I don’t get anything here, I will go back home,” said the Ethiopian-born coach.
