Escapees in court in North

TWO prisoners who escaped from Ondangwa Rehabilitation Centre last week made a brief appearance in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday.

The case of Anthony Kruger (34) and Nilton Kasanga (27) was postponed to February 26 for further investigation. Head of the Rehabilitation Centre, Andreas Nikanor, told The Namibian that Kruger is South African, while Kasanga is Angolan.The duo are charged with escape from lawful custody, theft and malicious damage to property.They escaped last Monday, allegedly stealing a video camera and motorbike in the process.The Angolan police at Santa Clara, just across the border from Oshikango, arrested the duo on Monday afternoon and handed them back to their Namibian counterparts.Head of the Rehabilitation Centre, Andreas Nikanor, told The Namibian that Kruger is South African, while Kasanga is Angolan.
