Embrace Your Curves With NA-KD Jeans

b Collection opened its doors in Windhoek last year. Shorty after opening, the fashion boutique began selling NA-KD Jeans, which are designed to enhance curves and emphasise a feeling of beautiful femininity.

Available in denim, cotton and eco-leather fabrics, NA-KD Jeans provide four-way stretch and contain a special anti-slip silicone band and silicone membrane to help shape and sculpt the hips, while staying firmly in place.

Offering a high or low waist option, lb Collection founder Lienkie Booysen is confident that the jeans are both comfortable and flattering, which makes them perfect for any woman.

Named after the fact that one almost feels naked while wearing them, Booysen says the jeans wraps the body like a second skin.

“It lifts up your bottom. They are really so comfortable to wear and this I can promise,” she said.

Booyen first discovered the jeans in 2016 when her sister brought a pair. “I was amazed! While they are quite costly, they are worth every cent.”

Introducing the jeans to Namibian women proved to be a little challenging, says Booysen.

“Women were very judgemental. They questioned the need to wear a silicone jean,” she recalls.

This soon changed, she says, when those who were criticising the brand saw other women wearing the jeans.

“Women love the way the jeans fit around the body. Many like the fact that they look about two sizes smaller. I have noticed that once a woman has worn the jeans, they are hooked. They keep coming back.”

Booysen says one of the advantages is their long lifespan, if care directions are followed. They must be hand-washed as the silicone might get damaged in a washing machine. She further advises that no fabric softeners should be used on the jeans.

The 36-year-old businesswoman will soon be launching new items consisting of NA-KD shorts, sunglasses and watches. She says adding something new to her brand is a great way to expand.

“Sunglasses and watches are accessories that are great for warmer days.”

Booysen says she would not have enjoyed the success she is enjoying today if it was not for her family, friends and clients. She adds the encouragement from her husband of 10 years and two sons – aged four and eight – has given her that extra boost to keep pushing on whenever things got tough.

Her clients inspire her to want to do more, she says. “This year I dressed the Miss Namibia 2019 semi-finalists at the announcement of the top 12 at the Winter Bash. I also dressed the finalists in casual wear at the crowning event.”

For those interested in starting their own businesses, Booysen says “never give up”, as a new business takes time to grow and success will eventually come. She believes hard work is key.

“Marketing is also essential. I started off by asking some of my friends to help me market my products. To get your products out there is a must.”

Booysen will showcase some of her products at the annual Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show to be held at the Windhoek Show Grounds from 30 September to 5 October, where selected jeans will be sold at a 20% discount.
