EENHANA – The council of Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region is committed to creating an enabling environment for investment and business at the town, the town’s Local Economic Development and Tourism Officer has said.
Ndauedua Muandingi said this while addressing a one-day Eenhana Business and Investment Meeting held on Wednesday. Muandingi said his council was committed to engage its current and potential local and outside investors into public business partnerships for the town’s economic growth.”We recognise that in order for us to reach our goal of socio-economic emancipation and sustainable development, much effort and engagement is needed from our part as the local authority,” Muandingi told his audience. He stated further that the town of Eenhana needs vigorous entrepreneurs in order to address infrastructure deficiencies and fill the technological and economic gap that currently exist at the town and in the Ohangwena Region as a whole. To attract more investment to Eenhana, Muandingi said the council had drafted various investment incentives for future investments. He singled out the reduced land price for an investment worth N$1 million or more and exemption from or reduced property taxes to such investors as some of the investment incentives the council has implemented.Muandingi noted that the council believed the formation of the Eenhana Business Association (EBA) would be a positive step towards the achievement of economic independence and the eradication of unemployment in the town.Eenhana was proclaimed a local authority and capital of the Ohangwena Region on April 15 1999 and its population has reached about 10 000.-NampaMuandingi said his council was committed to engage its current and potential local and outside investors into public business partnerships for the town’s economic growth.”We recognise that in order for us to reach our goal of socio-economic emancipation and sustainable development, much effort and engagement is needed from our part as the local authority,” Muandingi told his audience. He singled out the reduced land price for an investment worth N$1 million or more and exemption from or reduced property taxes to such investors as some of the investment incentives the council has implemented.Muandingi noted that the council believed the formation of the Eenhana Business Association (EBA) would be a positive step towards the achievement of economic independence and the eradication of unemployment in the town.Eenhana was proclaimed a local authority and capital of the Ohangwena Region on April 15 1999 and its population has reached about 10 000.-Nampa
