Eddie Wins Final HOH Challenge!

Eddie Wins Final HOH Challenge!

LADY Luck seems to be smiling down on Eddie. Our Namibian housemate is Head of House for the third time! Last Friday’s HOH task was the final of the entire season, making him the only housemate in ‘BBA: The Revolution’ to be HOH 3 times. His HOH win also guarantees him a place in the finals.

Friday’s HOH task did not require strength, intelligence, endurance or agility. The task was about pure, random luck. A mangled bunch of ropes was waiting for them in the garden, each a different length with all the ends grouped in a bundle and a group of seven different coloured flags. Each housemate had to select one flag and tie it to a rope, which then had to be measured. Eddie’s rope was the longest, making him the new HOH.Lucky, Eddie certainly seems to be. Take his first HOH win, when the housemates had to search the house for a tiny red star. Eddie found the star in record time. Then with last week’s Industrial Revolution task, Eddie proved to be the luckiest with the boiled versus raw, randomly selected eggs experiment. Then he found the needle in the haystack in record time and again now with the final HOH win. I think that definitely qualifies him as being very lucky. I am so hoping that this is a sign from the Universe. Let’s just keep our fingers, toes and whatever else you can think of crossed that luck continues to follow him all with way home with the US$200 000!There are a lot of SMSes on the BBA strap line that are talking about an eventual Kevin versus Eddie showdown. We never know which way the wind blows and there are a whole lot of influences that could change things but I also think it might come to that. Both housemates are pretty popular but the winner will be chosen by Africa. I think it’s pretty safe to say that Nigeria will back Kevin with all their might and I hope Namibians will vote for Eddie, how the other African countries will vote is unpredictable. Kevin’s popularity is definitely a threat for Eddie but I hope and believe Africa will choose to back him. He’s just so easygoing that people can’t help liking him. While he certainly has his detractors out there, Eddie doesn’t seem to have an evil bone in his body while Kevin sometimes gets that dark, broody, sinister look on his face that just unsettles me. Weekend Wrap Housemates had to wait ages for the party to start on Friday night. They lounged around, speculating about whether or not Biggie was going to provide them with some alcohol. Eventually, a couple of bottles were sent in, much to Mzamo’s delight. She sure does love her sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I like Mzamo. I think she’s intelligent, cool and fun but she always seems to be drinking! What else is there to do, some might say. But I don’t think any of the other housemates drink as much, and throughout the day. I think if she doesn’t already have a drinking problem, then she’s on the brink of developing one.But she’s a carefree type of person, unique, and truly her own spirit and I think this is what has fuelled the support she has in some countries. She may be a little too liberal for some audiences but the people who love her, do so with passion. To All the Girls I’ve Loved BeforeThe housemates spent the night drinking and reminiscing on days gone by, each talking about their first crushes, past relationship drama’s and flirtations. Itai had much to say on the topic, he seems to have some dating history! Filled with broken hearts, being dumped and cheating.Itai has been very vocal about wanting to propose to his girlfriend when he gets back home and has also spoken of how much he misses her. Even telling Kevin that he wanted to invite him to their wedding in Zimbabwe.I wonder what she thinks of it all. Don’t know about you, but I’d prefer he asked me before broadcasting to the world that he would. It sort of takes beauty and surprise out of the moment. Where’s the romance, Itai?Nkenna and her stories: Nkenna spoke about this gorgeous hunk that she apparently dissed. Yeah, I’ll believe that about as much as I believe she’s a virgin. Nkenna has spoken of her ‘pot of porridge’ never being dipped into but word in BBA circles is, she forgot she had said already, earlier in the game that she lost her virginity at 12. In her video introduction, which is aired randomly during BBA shows, she describes herself as somebody who loves telling stories! For sure. But I don’t believe most of them for a minute. If her dead mother is not paying a visit from the grave, then she’s talking about witchcraft tales and all kinds of crazy things. I’d love to find out if the stuff she says is really true, but some of it is just so unbelievable, it can’t be true. Can it?Saturday was slow and sluggish throughout with housemates discussing the final nominations, speculating on who they thought would be up and how the final 2 weeks would pan out. They seemed to think that Eddie was definitely going to be up and thought Itai would be too. With Eddie as HOH, I hope he wouldn’t try anything stupid like sacrifice himself to try and help a girl to win. Something he just might be crazy enough to do! Other than that scenario, I don’t see how he can even be up for possible eviction. The girls also spoke of how they thought Itai wasn’t a strong enough character to beat Kevin. Unfortunately for Namibians, Kevin is very popular. He’s beaten eviction several times and has massive support all over Africa. Arena GamesThis week’s arena games were all about power skating. Not all the housemates had skated before but Biggie asked that all the housemates give each of the games a try. They did a range of games, first skating the floor then performing a few tricks. They also had to race and play a roller hockey match. Then try skating on a ramp and the last one was really awesome, spray-painting urban action. When they got home they had some booze before DJ Waxy entertained them with his hot beats for a couple of hours. Money Pot DramasItai got the Money Pot results and Nkenna, Mzamo and Eddie all lost money. The fact that the infringement fines aren’t properly defined always seems to send the housemates into a confused round of guessing and wondering what they lost money for. As it stands now, Itai is leading the pack with his cash standing at $3082, while Mzamo still holds the least cash. The eviction results were unavailable at the time of going to press. See tomorrow’s edition of The Namibian for an interview with the latest evicted housemate. •You can watch Big Brother Africa 24 hours a day on DStv channel 198. The daily show, live nominations and eviction shows will be broadcast on M-Net Africa (DStv channel 102). Africa Magic (DStv channel 107) will broadcast all repeats.
