An Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) vehicle was involved in an accident 36 kilometres outside Tsumeb on Saturday.
The commission on Saturday said the accident took place around 01h45.
“One of the teams deployed for the Guinas constituency by-election was involved in a car accident approximately 36km from Tsumeb while trying to avoid hitting cattle,” the commission said.
ECN held by-elections in the Guinas constituency on Friday.
There were no fatalities, but serious injuries were reported.
“The team was en route to the results collection centre at the Guinas constituency office at Tsintsabis. The vehicle was carrying only non-sensitive materials,” ECN said.
