The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) on Thursday announced it has registered 1 315 124 eligible voters in the country and at diplomatic missions abroad.
ECN chief electoral officer Peter Shaama said the figure represents an average of 26 869 registered voters per day during 22 and 27 July.
“This is a slight decline compared to the turnout of the previous week,” he said.
Shaama said the Khomas region leads the process with 315 957 registered voters, followed by the Erongo region with 151 442.
“Namibians are further reminded that there is no window opportunity for extending the period of registration of voters,” he said.
The voters registration continues across the country and at all Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad until 1 August, Monday to Thursday from 08h00 to 19h00.
