Oliver Durand was the star of the show at the fourth Bank Windhoek Short Course gala over the weekend.
The 16-year-old Durand of Dolphins Swimming Club broke all six records at the gala, with four coming in the men’s 15 to 16 age group category and two in the open men’s open category.
In the 15-16 year category he set a new 100m freestyle record of 51,26 seconds to break his own former record of 52,09, while he set a new 100m backstroke record of 56,49 to break Jose Canjulo’s former record of 57,14. His backstroke time also broke Ronan Wantenaar’s men’s open record of 56,97 that was set in Tartartstan in 2021.
