AT a media launch set at a swanky new lounge in the Windhoek CBD, The Loft, MultiChoice Namibia launched a range of brand new products for their television packages. Creatively making use of garments by fashion designer Ingo Shanyenge, the company’s corporate communication team showcased their four DStv packages with all their unique qualities and flair.
The satellite television provider announced the addition of 11 new HD channels plus more pop-up channels for its DStv Premium package as well as more variety, quality and exciting content for their other packages.
Speaking at the media launch, head of corporate communications Lizette Foot reiterated that the additions to the Premium package are in line with what premium clients expect from their package, hence the importance of having more HD channels added to the package.
This October, DStv Premium customers can celebrate with M-Net on the M-Net Movies Blockparty pop-up channel on 109, and can look forward to more exciting pop-up channels in the coming months like the M-Net Movies ‘Harry Potter’ pop-up channel which will run from 4 to 14 November.
DStv Compact viewers won’t be left out as they will gain three new channels to boost their bouquet. Following the addition of the Premiere League and La Liga to the package earlier this year, DStv Compact will also get more content from the best of English programming on ITV Choice (DStv channel 123) as well as a trip down memory lane with nostalgic movies on TCM (DStv channel 137).
In November, Compact subscribers will get a local content boost with the launch of ROK. Since its launch in 2013, ROK Studios has produced some of Nollywood’s most talked about originals.
DStv Family viewers are also in for a treat – the package will be enhanced with two additional channels Eva (DStv channel 141) for the best and latest telenovelas from Latin America dubbed in English, along with an exciting mix of US dramas, comedies and unscripted programming including the latest season of the critically-acclaimed ‘Empire’ series on Fox (DStv channel 125).
The upgrades on the DStv bouquets will be effective as from 1 November.
“This major boost in entertainment value across all DStv bouquets demonstrates our commitment to ensuring DStv customers receive great entertainment and best-in-class value. The changes we are making here are not only a defining moment in our MultiChoice story, but also a defining moment in the African entertainment landscape. We are proud to be pushing as hard as we can to delight DStv customers,” said Roger Gertze, general manager of MultiChoice Namibia.
