Drugs worth N$44 500 confiscated at the coast over the weekend

Weekend operations at Walvis Bay and Swakopmund by the Namibian Police saw multiple suspects arrested for the possession of cannabis, cocaine and mandrax worth N$44 555.

According to the weekend crime report, on Friday at approximately 09h50, two Namibian men were arrested at Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay.

“Two Namibian male suspects, aged 25 and 35, were arrested after they were found in possession of 815 grams of skunk cannabis, 0.4 grams of cocaine and cash of N$7 120. The total value is N$42 750. Police investigations are ongoing,” police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said.

In another operation on the same day at around 10h00, a man (58) was also arrested at Kuisebmond after he was found with 0.5 grams of skunk cannabis and one block of suspected crack cocaine valued at N$525.

“The suspect was already on a wanted suspect list on a similar charge,” Shikwambi said.

Early on Saturday morning at around 00h05, police arrested two male suspects, aged 17 and 38, at Walvis Bay.

They were found with five half mandrax tablets, and one block of crack cocaine. The confiscated drugs were valued at N$680.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, at around 02h36 on Saturday morning, a man (25) was arrested during a body search at a shopping complex at Mondesa, Swakopmund.

The suspect was found with six units of crack cocaine, valued at N$600.
