Dragon Fire shines on ‘Chokotola’

VIBING … Dragon Fire is making waves with the song ‘Chokotola’ and promises fireworks.

Ismael Uutoni, aka Dragon Fire, a house and kwiku singer and performer from the north, has been causing a stir, with his hit- song ‘Chokotola’ over the past few months.

After performing the song at various establishments in the north, the 29-year-old singer, who only entered the music industry in 2018, has been trending on a number of platforms.

The song has also spent recent months in the top 20 local music competitions on Shipi FM.

DragonFire released ‘Chokotola’ in April, the singer told The Namibian over the weekend. However, the song has been growing in popularity ever since.

“When I and the management [of Bizboiz Entertainment] discovered how much people enjoyed the song, we decided to expedite the album release since my fans wanted more from me and many businesspeople requested CDs for their jukeboxes,” he said.

He said the song makes general statements about guys,– how they get more confident to approach women after consuming alcohol.

The majority of the tracks on Dragon Fire’s album ‘Chokotola’ were produced by producer King Mex at YKMP Studio.
“I’m grateful to everyone who has supported my artistic endeavours.”

“Since my first album ‘Remember’, not many people even knew who I was. I feel fortunate that so many people are liking my song and that it has helped me become known,” he said.

The 15-track album comprises mostly house songs, which are popular among Namibians.

“Besides ‘Chokotola’, I think every song on the album is equally fantastic to listen to.”

The musician is currently touring the north with his album, with the first event held at Engoyi village, Onyaanya, a week ago, where he displayed enormous talent.

“Most of the fans wouldn’t believe I’m Namibian after seeing my energetic and electrifying performance,” he claimed.
The singer said his CD launch will take place at the end of August in Onethindi, Ondangwa and thereafter he will continue his tour in several areas.

“In the next five years, I see myself as Namibia’s most dynamic performer and I’d also love to work with other musicians to spread awesome music throughout the world,” the artist said.
