Namibian artist DJ Vuyo has released the music video for his latest single, ‘Too Much’. The track comes off his recent birthday project, titled 30/6 Project, and celebrates beauty, confidence and boldness.

The video, directed by Mepani M, features two leading women, capturing the song’s message that sometimes, one is simply ‘not enough’.

Speaking to The Namibian, DJ Vuyo says ‘Too Much’ is about women who stand out without even trying.

“They’re too beautiful, too stylish and too bold – in the best possible way,” he says. “We featured two different leading ladies to reflect that idea. In Namibia, we are truly surrounded by too much beauty.”

The video mixes humour and fun scenes to bring the lyrics to life. DJ Vuyo says the visuals also show a new creative side of him, as he continues to explore different ways to tell stories through music.

He first gained major attention in the industry after the success of his hit single ‘Dorado’. The song passed one million views online and earned him a song of the year award and a nomination. He says this was a turning point in his career.

“It confirmed that our stories matter. It also motivated me to take more risks and grow as an artist,” he adds.

Originally from Katima Mulilo, DJ Vuyo says the road hasn’t been easy. He had to believe in his talent and keep working, even when very few people knew who he was.

“For young Namibian creatives, my message is simple,” he says. “Own your story, stay committed and never limit yourself. There’s so much talent in this country, and we need to keep showing up and believing in our work.”

The release of ‘Too Much’ adds to a strong wave of new music from Namibian artists this year.

Top Cheri released ‘Angelina’ on her birthday. Kalux and Jericho teamed up on a new track called ‘Touch Touch’. Eldazz Tswazis made a return with ‘Baby Come Back’, and DJ Spuzza also released a collaboration titled ‘Respek’, featuring Meyer, Bones, Chester House Prince and SQ Musiq.

In July, ML Musik joined in with two new singles: ‘Baby Girl’ and ‘Ko Mando’.

As the Namibian music scene continues to grow, artists like DJ Vuyo are leading the way by creating fresh, local content and pushing boundaries. With the ‘Too Much’ video now out, fans can expect more exciting visuals and stories from the artist in the future.
