DJ Alba: Musician and Business Mogul in the Making

One thing to expect from DJ Alba Nalo is innovation.

The music star and businesswoman is the definition of inspiration as she breaks barriers to make her dream of music and accessory production come true.

‘Sunsets and Roses’ will be the first in a series of events to be hosted by DJ Alba Nalo twice a year.

October’s event is themed ‘PINKnic’, and will take place tomorrow.

“This is my first event series as DJ Alba Nalo, so I really wanted to create events that represent the Alba Nalo brand. The idea is to eventually turn them into big picnic-styled festivals that celebrate femininity, without excluding the attendance of the other gender,” she says.

The DJ, who is always booked and busy, says she will also be doing her first international gig in Tanzania.

She will soon release her next single, and says being able to educate herself has been a key source of empowerment.

“I had so much time to read and educate myself on topics that I feel will help me better myself as an individual who is part of a larger group of individuals. It gave me the chance to examine so many things in my life and my career, because my biggest goal is to add value to my brand.

“My next single, which is super special to me, features my voice from beginning to end, so I’m really excited to release this at the end of October,” she says.

DJ Alba, who keeps adding collections to her House of Nalo accessories brand, says her goal is to turn House of Nalo into a creative space. She plans to launch its sister brand soon.

DJ Alba recently became part of the Simba snacks influencer family. She believes there is hope for all creatives to be successful if they maximise their social media potential.

“I’m actually really excited about how international brands are using social media to expand their marketing reach. Social media is fast becoming a big marketing hub, and it’s giving birth to so many opportunities which didn’t even exist 10 years ago.

“Who would have thought I would be getting a content creation gig just because I’m a DJ? I have worked with brands like Kaspersky, Horizon Beer and Showmax. The opportunities are becoming endless, and it’s really beautiful to watch. We are definitely entering a different era,” she says.
