Diplomats reshuffled

THE Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday reassigned 10 ambassadors and high commissioners to new host countries, following the appointment of new diplomats by President Hifikepunye Pohamba the previous day.

Professor Peter Katjavivi, who served as ambassador to Belgium, will go to Berlin, Germany, and Ambassador Hanno Rumpf will move from Berlin to Belgium, the Ministry announced. Wilfried Emvula, who was stationed in France for many years, will be posted to Ethiopia, where he will at the same time represent Namibia at the African Union in Addis Ababa.Ambassador Patrick Nandago, who served in Brazil, will move to Washington in the US.The previous ambassador to Washington, Hopelong Ipinge, will take over Nandago’s post in Brazil, Foreign Affairs Minister Marco Hausiku announced.Former High Commissioner to Botswana, Theresia Samaria, will be sent to Stockholm in Sweden.”Ambassador George Liswaniso, who served in Ethiopia and the African Union, will now represent Namibia in the United Kingdom and Ireland at our diplomatic mission in London,” Hausiku added.Ringo Abed, who was stationed in London, will be sent to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.Abed was appointed as ambassador early last year under former President Sam Nujoma.Lastly, Phillemon Kambala, who was stationed in Nigeria, will be sent to Pretoria in South Africa.Wilfried Emvula, who was stationed in France for many years, will be posted to Ethiopia, where he will at the same time represent Namibia at the African Union in Addis Ababa.Ambassador Patrick Nandago, who served in Brazil, will move to Washington in the US.The previous ambassador to Washington, Hopelong Ipinge, will take over Nandago’s post in Brazil, Foreign Affairs Minister Marco Hausiku announced.Former High Commissioner to Botswana, Theresia Samaria, will be sent to Stockholm in Sweden.”Ambassador George Liswaniso, who served in Ethiopia and the African Union, will now represent Namibia in the United Kingdom and Ireland at our diplomatic mission in London,” Hausiku added.Ringo Abed, who was stationed in London, will be sent to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.Abed was appointed as ambassador early last year under former President Sam Nujoma.Lastly, Phillemon Kambala, who was stationed in Nigeria, will be sent to Pretoria in South Africa.
