Development NGO offers reward following break-in and theft

A NAMIBIAN conservation and development NGO has lost years of valuable records and data – some of it irreplaceable – with the theft last week of two laptop computers in Katima Mulilo.

Back-up disks in a separate case were also stolen. IRDNC Director, Dr Margaret Jacobsohn, yesterday appealed to anyone with information about the computers – a Eurocom D470W and an Acer – to contact IRDNC or Detective Warrant Officer Peimes V Amwaama of the Katima Mulilo CID.”The loss of the data in the computers is a major setback to our work,” Jacobsohn said. The computers were among a number of items stolen from a locked room in a house at Katima Mulilo. The lock was smashed in the early hours of the morning.A Minolta camera, two lenses and a Canon portable printer were also stolen. The value of the missing goods is about N$60 000.W/O Amwaama can be contacted at 066-251228 or 0812429717; IRDNC Katima Mulilo office number is 066-252666.A substantial cash reward has been offered.IRDNC Director, Dr Margaret Jacobsohn, yesterday appealed to anyone with information about the computers – a Eurocom D470W and an Acer – to contact IRDNC or Detective Warrant Officer Peimes V Amwaama of the Katima Mulilo CID.”The loss of the data in the computers is a major setback to our work,” Jacobsohn said. The computers were among a number of items stolen from a locked room in a house at Katima Mulilo. The lock was smashed in the early hours of the morning.A Minolta camera, two lenses and a Canon portable printer were also stolen. The value of the missing goods is about N$60 000.W/O Amwaama can be contacted at 066-251228 or 0812429717; IRDNC Katima Mulilo office number is 066-252666.A substantial cash reward has been offered.
