Deep In The City is Back

Shaheeda Sacharias

As the weather starts to warm up again, why not welcome spring in style?

The Deep In The City Festival will be taking place at the Windhoek Show Grounds from 7 to 8 September, and they’re calling on Namibians to come enjoy the music, food and beverage stalls, among other exciting activities.

According to marketing admin head Shaheeda Saacharias, the aim of this regularly-held showcase is to empower the youth, promote local, small and medium enterprises and to generate exposure for artists and musicians from in and around the country.

“It’s not just a drinking thing. It’s fun, it’s games, it’s activities, it’s playtime, it’s food. It’s an experience,” she says, adding that this year’s theme is ‘The best is yet to come’.

By the end of this month, the official line up will be released. Previous editions of the event have included the likes of South Africa’s Oscar Mbo, Namibian kwaito artist King Tee Dee and and DJs like Tumi Mohamed and Alba Nalo on the roster.

“We remain dedicated to fostering an inclusive, vibrant and sustainable event that will bring people together, transcend the challenges of the times and celebrate the enduring power of music and community,” Sacahrias says.

Currently, phase one tickets are available for N$70 at Webtickets at all Pick n Pay outlets nationwide. The cost is subject to change closer to the event and at the gate. VIP tables are also up for grabs for up to N$30 000.
