Minister of urban and rural development James Sankwasa has announced the removal of Dâure Daman Traditional Authority chief Zacharias Seibeb.
This is contained in a letter dated 13 November, titled ‘Degazzeting of chief Zacharias Seibeb as Dâure Daman Traditional Authority’.
In the letter, Sankwasa says the “degazzeting” was recognised and effected by president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah in terms of the law.
“This is by proclamation in the Government Gazette no 8772, dated 31 October 2025,” he writes.
Seibeb’s removal was as a result of several Dâure Daman communities’ discontent with him, several petitions delivered to the president, and the line ministry calling for his removal due to a loss of trust.
