WINDHOEK – The third edition of the Cycling for Christ tour was officially launched in the capital yesterday.
Cycling For Christ chairman Isak Farmer said 20 cyclists will embark on the strenuous 1 000-km race starting on May 6 in Luederitz and ending on May 16 in Walvis Bay. Farmer said the cyclists will pass through Keetmanshoop, Mariental, Rehoboth, Windhoek, Karibib, Usakos and Swakopmund, where they will pay courtesy calls on each town’s mayor. He said the well-being of the 20 cyclists will be taken care of thanks to a sponsorship of two vehicles by Auas Motors, while Engen has forked out N$30 000 to cover travel expenses, gear and accommodation.Farmer said the cyclists hope to raise more than N$100 000 from the various towns’ mayors and individual private companies. The proceeds of the race will be channelled to Children with Cancer in Namibia (Chica), a support group under the umbrella of the Cancer Association of Namibia.NampaFarmer said the cyclists will pass through Keetmanshoop, Mariental, Rehoboth, Windhoek, Karibib, Usakos and Swakopmund, where they will pay courtesy calls on each town’s mayor. The proceeds of the race will be channelled to Children with Cancer in Namibia (Chica), a support group under the umbrella of the Cancer Association of Namibia.Nampa
