Cut Them Off

Cut Them Off

I USED to listen to Oshiwambo Open Line [omayele koshigwana] but it is just nonsense.I was thinking this programme is there to direct, motivate and educate people on various matters pertaining to the nation but honestly this programme should rather be removed for something else.

I was listening to the one of 22 February 2006 and everything is just “the Government must do something”. One of the callers was talking about the closing of cuca shops at Luederitz because the owners do not have permits and on the issue that kids are no longer going to school because they depend on “otombo” to get energy to walk to school. To me this is just rubbish.Another caller was talking about the roads which are blocked by the traditional authorities. In my opinion this person was supposed first to contact those traditional leaders about it rather than call the Open Line. The programme of that day was just meaningless to me.I think the man who was on NBC tried his best to ask the callers if they first contacted the right people before coming on air and that was great and please, if callers are in a mess or calling for the sake of calling, they should just be cut off.Metal OkahaoOne of the callers was talking about the closing of cuca shops at Luederitz because the owners do not have permits and on the issue that kids are no longer going to school because they depend on “otombo” to get energy to walk to school. To me this is just rubbish.Another caller was talking about the roads which are blocked by the traditional authorities. In my opinion this person was supposed first to contact those traditional leaders about it rather than call the Open Line. The programme of that day was just meaningless to me.I think the man who was on NBC tried his best to ask the callers if they first contacted the right people before coming on air and that was great and please, if callers are in a mess or calling for the sake of calling, they should just be cut off.Metal Okahao
