Police chief of communication Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday confirmed the arrest of a young woman in connection with the assault of a six-year-old child.
Shikwambi said the incident happened in Windhoek’s Greenwell Matongo area.
“The suspect was arrested and a case was opened by the social worker from the gender ministry, who attended to the incident. The suspect was charged with assault through threatening and common assault. The victim is her own child, and she will be appearing in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Monday),” she said.
