Man accused of housebreaking

A man facing a charge of housebreaking and theft made his first appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in Katutura on Wednesday.

Darius Kemba (20) appeared before magistrate Nanghali Aihuki.

It is alleged that Kemba broke into a house at Otjomuise on 12 August and stole items, including a bicycle and clothes worth more than N$19 000.

Kemba’s bail is set at N$3 000, and the matter was postponed to 8 October for further investigation.

Prosecutor Victor Mutumbulwa appeared on behalf of the state.

Kemba plans to apply for legal aid.

Robbed at knifepoint

A 31-YEAR-OLD man appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in Katutura on a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances on Wednesday.

Herman Namwandi allegedly used a knife to rob his victim of a cellphone, watch and ring on 27 July.

Namwandi is already facing another robbery charge, and the state has objected to bail as it fears he will interfere with the investigation.

The case has been postponed to 8 October for further investigation.

Namwandi intends to apply for legal aid.

Shack burgled for groceries

A man accused of stealing groceries worth N$500 after breaking into a shack appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on a charge of housebreaking on Wednesday.

Collen Gowaseb (21)has been granted bail in an amount of N$800.

His case has been postponed to 2 October for further investigations to be carried out.
