Convicted rapist escapes

Isak Alfeus

A Windhoek Correctional Facility inmate, Isak Alfeus (32), escaped from Windhoek Central Hospital earlier today, where he was taken for a sonar scan.

According to the Namibian Police, Alfeus, who is currently serving a 38-year sentence for housebreaking with aggravating circumstances and three counts of rape, made his daring escape at approximately 12h30 on Monday.

Alfeus was convicted on 13 October 2020, by the Omaruru Magistrates Court, which sentenced him to 38 years in prison for his crimes.

Anyone with any information regarding Alfeus is urged to get in touch with commissioner Fillipus Nangolo at 081 145 6589, the Windhoek Correctional Facility at 061 284 6500, or their local police station.
