As men, we have a lot to be proud of. We invented electricity, automobiles, trains, planes, and even put a few footprints on the moon. So why, oh why, is it that when it comes to women we have such a hard time figuring out what to do? Why are the nine big mistakes men make with women destined to be repeated over and over again?
As men, we have a lot to be proud of. We invented electricity, automobiles, trains, planes, and even put a few footprints on the moon. So why, oh why, is it that when it comes to women we have such a hard time figuring out what to do? Why are the nine big mistakes men make with women destined to be repeated over and over again?
The answer to this question lies in the difference between what women say they want and what they actually react to. The fact of the matter is that we have learned to trust and take women’s verbal requests at face value and never bothered to actually test and observe our subjects. But the fact of the matter is that if you analyse a woman’s most common request, you’ll see that, in most cases, she’s actually attracted to the opposite of what she claims to want.
Well, not all men can master their game from the onset to the moments she falls in. Here are a couple of mistake that men make…
Buying too many gifts
A few weeks ago, I hooked up with a woman in a club who was originally on a first date with another fellow. Imagine: He brought her flowers, a teddy bear and paid for dinner, and I took her home. Poor sap. But it serves him right for not knowing better. Whenever you give a woman gifts, you’re sending a message that you need to buy her affection because you don’t think you’re good enough as a person. Some women will mistake your good intentions for a weak attempt at manipulation.
Save the romantic gifts for the married life. If she didn’t get you anything, why should you spend your money on her?
Convince her to like you
“I’m a really nice and romantic guy. I’m a great lover and I can guarantee you that you will always be satisfied. I respect women and you will never have to worry about me cheating on you.”… Yeah, right! She’ll never have to worry about you cheating on her because she won’t care if you do. Here’s a fact: You will never convince a woman to be attracted to you through logic and reasoning. A woman is wired to react to emotions; therefore, it’s how you act and make her feel that will determine her interest in you.
Revealing your cards
“I like you a lot. I really, really like hanging out with you. You make me feel so special. I think I’m falling for you. I’m so attracted to you.” Of course you are, that’s why you’re still dating. Your presence around her alone should be enough to communicate this message. You don’t have to tell her this. She should figure it out on her own. If she still hasn’t, then let her wonder if you do – it’s part of what will keep her attracted to you and hold her attention.
Having an inferiority complex
I’d like to approach her but I don’t think I’m her type. Besides, she looks like she’s interested in guys with a lot of cash. Yes, it’s a known fact that having good looks and a fat wallet will definitely help turn a woman’s eye in your direction. But that’s half the battle. You still need to have a charming personality to take it past the introduction stage.
Such men tend to let their money or good looks do the talking and forget that a brain is actually more conducive to interesting conversations. Before they know it, they’re talking to themselves in front of the mirror. Sometimes having an original approach and your own unique style will get you a lot further than you think.
Making false assumptions
A woman that is beautiful has to be taken. That, or she’s high-maintenance. I said it before and I’ll say it again: Assumptions are the mother of all screw-ups. Did you know that most of the beautiful women I approach complain about not meeting any men, or how hard it is to get a date because men think they’re spoken for?
Every time you make an assumption about a woman and it prevents you from approaching her, it amounts to another wasted opportunity to hook up with a beautiful woman. Take a chance, and follow the rich man’s motto: FIYOLO: F*ck It, You Only Live Once.
Waiting for approval or permission
“Can I pull your hair?” Of course you can, just do it, don’t ask. Why don’t you bark like a puppy while you’re at it? I’d say that eight out of 10 women would give you a weird look and believe that question to be a disrespectful one toward women.
Yet, nine out of 10 women would definitely enjoy the experience. So, the next time you feel like placing your hand around her waist, do it. You’ll be surprised at her instant gratification. (She will too). Remember: Spontaneity is the secret to great sex and asking is the opposite of spontaneity.
Being too nice a guy
“Oh, I’m busy this week. How about some other time? No, forget it, I’ll cancel my plans for you. I’ll feed your cats while you’re gone. Enjoy your vacation.” Unless you’re feeding her pussycat, figuratively speaking, you’d better not break your plans. Stop being so accommodating; it makes your value decrease and women aren’t attracted to men they can walk all over. Of course, I’m not suggesting that you stop being a nice guy and behave like a jerk (although it can help sometimes). All it means is that you’re looking out for number one, yourself – and there is nothing wrong with that. If she can’t work her plans around your schedule, then too bad for her, she’ll just have to wait. By following this philosophy, you will become more valuable in her eyes.
Blaming others and refusing to change
“Ah, she’s just a bitch!” Yes, she might be a bitch, but you may be the problem if you find yourself calling every woman you date one. If you see a recurring pattern regarding the way women dump or avoid you, then chances are that you’re doing something wrong. The solution is to accept that you’re making mistakes and try to rectify them.
If you feel that you’ve made some of these mistakes in the past, don’t sweat it. The important thing is that you learn from them and use your experiences to become better.
