Windhoek City Police deputy chief for operations Eliaser Iiyambo urges the public to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect following the discovery of a murdered woman at the ‘Gamengde’ area at Katutura on Monday morning.

The body of the woman (35) was found at a scene that showed signs of a possible rape, Iiyambo says.

Speaking at the scene, Iiyambo confirmed that the victim was identified by family members. He said preliminary investigations suggest the woman may have been sexually assaulted before her death.

“We are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that might assist in locating the suspect,” Iiyambo said.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
