Windhoek spokesperson Harold Akwenye says residents of Groot Aub and Brakwater will not be affected by power disconnections, as the council has made payment arrangements.
Akwenye said the council made arrangements to ensure that the outstanding amount is settled to secure uninterrupted power supply for the residents.
This comes after NamPower on 9 May issued a notice listing Groot Aub and Brakwater, within the City of Windhoek, among the customers to face power disconnection due to outstanding payments.
“The city’s residents can rest assured that they will not be affected by NamPower’s planned suspension of electricity to defaulting customers.
“The council remains committed to rendering efficient and effective municipal services,” he said.
