Churches Must Not Prevent Exercise Of Human Rights

ALLOW me to take issue with those churches who prevent people from exercising their democratic rights.

First of all, it should be understood that as citizens of this country, we have a God given duty and responsibility to contribute to the growth and success of our country. God has given us people, men and women, whom we have elected through the ballot paper to govern and lead this country. They should know and be aware of their responsibility towards the authority, given and established by God.They should rid themselves from the world of imagination and be aware of the real world. No matter who is ruling the country, each one of us Christians or non-Christians should exercise our right as written and stipulated in our contitution which is the Supreme law of Namibia.I should assume that the Council of Churches, which is the overall regulating churchbody should take note of such activities and take appropriate action against such churches.Politics can and should never be viewed or regarded in isolation, because politics is and will always be an intergral part of the church. If some of those churches embrace a policy of isolation then they should do it solo and not try to recruit others to follow suit. Here is my advice to some to these churches: You should rather encourage people to use their right in bringing change to our country by exercising their democratic right.Encourage them to be responsible citizens and see and realise how they could make a difference in people’s lives.Do not create chaos and confusion which will lead to lawlessness or apathy.A Visagie WindhoekGod has given us people, men and women, whom we have elected through the ballot paper to govern and lead this country. Here is my advice to some to these churches: You should rather encourage people to use their right in bringing change to our country by exercising their democratic right.Encourage them to be responsible citizens and see and realise how they could make a difference in people’s lives.Do not create chaos and confusion which will lead to lawlessness or apathy.A Visagie Windhoek
