LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown has been doing more in Miami than reconciling with Rihanna. He’s been recording.
E! News has learned exclusively that, in addition to riding a jet ski daily in the waters behind Diddy’s mansion, where he has been trying to patch things up with his girlfriend following their Grammys eve blow-up, Brown has been laying down tracks for a new album.Brown (19) has been in Miami for about a week and has been recording late at night at Miami’s famed Hit Factory studio. So far there has been no sign of Rihanna (21) at any of the sessions.Meanwhile, despite reports by People and Extra, Brown was not out partying solo on Saturday. Those outlets were among many that claimed Brown was kicking it up in South Beach with Young Jeezy, Reggie Bush and Khloe Kardashian (sister of Bush’s girlfriend, Kim).Sources tell E! News that Bush has a friend who bears a resemblance to Brown. Apparently some fellow revellers at the Gansevoort South Hotel mistook the Bush pal for Brown, who was absolutely not in attendance. Neither Bush nor Khloe Kardashian have ever met Brown, our insiders say.Indeed, speaking to Celebuzz, Kardashian confirms the mistaken identity. ‘I find it so silly that so many media outlets picked up our story with no truth behind it.’Combs has a nearly 13 000-square-foot beachfront home.At the end of last week, sources said that the pair had been in touch, with Brown contacting Rihanna on her 21st birthday on February 20.A rep for the ‘Disturbia’ singer denied that she had talked to him on the phone, but … they apparently reconnected somehow.’While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves,’ a source told People, which first reported the apparent reconciliation. This looks to be the pair’s first in-person reunion since Brown was arrested on February 8 for allegedly assaulting Rihanna and leaving her with visible injuries. Except for flashes of them in transit (separately) from here to there, and some pics of Rihanna that just surfaced from her sojourn to Mexico last weekend, both have lain incredibly low since.Brown, who was booked on Grammy night on suspicion of making criminal threats, is due to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 5 but, according to the LA District Attorney’s Office, that might not happen.’We don’t have the evidence yet. [LAPD detectives] are still investigating,’ DA spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News Wednesday.’The DA is being even more thorough than usual with this case. They don’t want to mess it up,’ said a source close to the investigation. At this point, it’s unclear what Rihanna and Brown’s reported reunion could mean for the DA’s case.’Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,’ Brown said in a statement released on February 15. ‘I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.’ – E!
