LUSAKA – Second Republican President Dr Frederick Chiluba has been discharged from the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after being treated for his heart condition.

Chiluba’s Spokesperson Emmanuel Mwamba told Zanis in Lusaka yesterday that Chiluba was discharged from UTH this morning. He said the former President was discharged from the hospital at 7H30 hours and left the hospital premises for his Kabulonga residence at about 10h00.Mwamba, however, said the former republican president’s condition remains chronic adding that doctors have since warned that Dr Chiluba may from time to time have relapses due to his current heart condition. He said the doctors have since advised the former Head of State to engage in light exercises and spend a lot of time resting in order to avoid the relapses.Mwamba further added that Chiluba would be going back to UTH for review after a month.Meanwhile, Mwamba has said doctors in South Africa, where the former Head of State was being treated, have requested for Chiluba to travel earlier than scheduled for a medical check up.He also said the ad-hoc committee of doctors at UTH would generate a report on Chiluba’s condition to the court where the former Head of State is currently facing corruption charges.Nampa-ZanaHe said the former President was discharged from the hospital at 7H30 hours and left the hospital premises for his Kabulonga residence at about 10h00.Mwamba, however, said the former republican president’s condition remains chronic adding that doctors have since warned that Dr Chiluba may from time to time have relapses due to his current heart condition. He said the doctors have since advised the former Head of State to engage in light exercises and spend a lot of time resting in order to avoid the relapses.Mwamba further added that Chiluba would be going back to UTH for review after a month.Meanwhile, Mwamba has said doctors in South Africa, where the former Head of State was being treated, have requested for Chiluba to travel earlier than scheduled for a medical check up.He also said the ad-hoc committee of doctors at UTH would generate a report on Chiluba’s condition to the court where the former Head of State is currently facing corruption charges.Nampa-Zana
