Chile Futsal Club are the hot favourites to win the NDTC Futsal Premier League after another dominant display over the weekend.

They thrashed Flying V 22-2 to move nine points clear at the top of the log and with only seven matches remaining they are now firm favourites to win the title. They are still unbeaten this season, having won 21 and drawn two matches, and have now moved up to 65 points from their 23 matches.

Quality FC kept their faint title hopes alive with a 6-1 victory against X Men to move up to 56 points in second place.

They have two matches in hand on Chile and if they win them they can reduce the gap to three points, but Chile will have to drop points in their final matches if they hope to catch them.

Third-placed Windhoek Futsal Club is the only other team with a mathematical chance of catching the leaders although it’s highly unlikely.

They beat Ballers FC 5-1 on Saturday to move up to 49 points from 23 matches, and with seven matches remaining they are now 16 points off the pace.

The X-Men’s chances of catching the leaders are over after their defeat to Quality, as they now trail well behind on 41 points in fourth place.

Fifth-placed EFG Patriots seemed heading for an upset defeat against Ragazzi FC after going down 3-0 at half-time.

They, however, made a fine second-half comeback, scoring three goals to grab a share of the spoils which puts them fifth on the log on 28 points from 21 matches.

Ballers are sixth on 36 points, while Boston Madrid moved up to 34 points in seventh place after beating Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show FC 4-2.

Ragazzi FC are eighth on 30 points, while Ineos FC went ninth on 24 points after beating JAC Motors 5-4.

The Mavericks are 10th on 23 points after a 2-1 victory against Demia FC, who are 11th on 21 points.

The battle to avoid the relegation axe is also hotting up with several teams in danger of the drop.

Flying V is rooted to the bottom of the log on four points with only one win and one draw from their 21 matches and are nearly certain to be one of the three relegated teams.

Several other teams, however, are also in danger of being relegated, including JAC FC on 13 points, 7 Kings FC (14), WIAS FC (15), and even Demia and the Mavericks.

Selecao FC on 19 points could also be in danger, but the coastal side has only played nine matches to date and whether they fulfil all their remaining fixtures remains to be seen.
