Cenored to be paid at NamPost

AFTER similar agreements with the municipalities of Keetmanshoop and Rehoboth, NamPost has now extended their bill payment services to the Otjozondjupa and Kunene regions.

This means that residents of Outjo, Khorixas, Grootfontein, Okakarara, Otavi, Otjiwarongo, Kamanjab and Tsumeb can now pay their electricity accounts at any Post Office countrywide, and not just at the offices of their regional electricity distribution company, Cenored (Central Red). The agreement became operational on the 1st of October.According to NamPost Agencies Services Manager Benjamin Jakobs, the company is currently negotiating with all other remaining local authorities to make similar agreements.According to Jakobs, NamPost has also signed an agreement with Nedloans which will take affect from 2006.In terms of this agreement, NamPost will be allowed to handle loan applications from the Nedbank initiative.NamPost has 120 post offices countrywide, of which 48 are computerized.Jakobs said yesterday that 27 more post offices are expected to be computerised by the end of the year, pending the training of staff at these offices.According to an employee at Cenored at Otjiwarongo, the electricity distribution company is also planning on extending their bill payment services to some service stations in their areas.The agreement became operational on the 1st of October.According to NamPost Agencies Services Manager Benjamin Jakobs, the company is currently negotiating with all other remaining local authorities to make similar agreements.According to Jakobs, NamPost has also signed an agreement with Nedloans which will take affect from 2006.In terms of this agreement, NamPost will be allowed to handle loan applications from the Nedbank initiative.
