A cattle herder, identified as Moyo Yishime (33), has died after allegedly being struck by lightning at Kamuti village in the Kavango West region.
Regional police chief inspector Raimbert Muronga says the incident reportedly occurred between 15h00 and 17h00 on Friday.
A community member discovered Yishime’s body in the bushes approximately 500 metres away from the homestead on Saturday at around 16h45 after he did not return home the previous day.
Muronga says Yishime’s body was found close to three dead cattle, which were also suspected to have been killed in the lightning strike.
Yishime’s body was transported to the Rundu State Mortuary for an autopsy.
Muronga says his next of kin have been informed of his death, and police investigations are ongoing.
