Car accidents claim lives over the weekend

Two separate motor vehicle accidents over the weekend at Ondangwa and Onethindi resulted in death, noted police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi in the weekend crime report.

At Ondangwa, Ndjomba Nghidipohamba (33) lost control of his vehicle at the Indangungu curve, resulting in his death.

“Three passengers aged 30, 31, and 31 sustained slight to serious injuries,” Shikwambi said.

Nghidipohamba’s next of kin have been informed.

Later that afternoon, on the gravel road between Oshipala and Olukonda, Uukelo Tomas (62) lost control of his vehicle, causing the car to overturn.

“The driver died on the spot,” Shikwambi said. “The other two passengers, aged 69 and 71, with minor and serious injuries, were transported to Onandjokwe State Hospital for medical treatment.”

Tomas’ next of kin have also been informed.
