A 52-year-old man died along the B8 road about seven kilometers from Grootfontein on Saturday evening after losing control of his vehicle.
The accident happened at around 21h00 on the road between Otavi and Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa region.
The deceased has been identified as Jaco van Dyk, a resident of Grootfontein.
According to a weekend crime report released by the Namibian Police on Sunday, Van Dyk died at the scene after his vehicle hit a bridge and overturned.
“He was thrown out of the vehicle. He was alone and his body was taken to the Grootfontein Private Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem examination,” reads the police report.
Van Dyk’s next of kin are informed and an investigation continues.
