Can Pohamba Do What Is Necessary?

Can Pohamba Do What Is Necessary?

QUITE frankly I am shocked, disappointed, angry and disillusioned by the inaction of President Hifikepunye Pohamba in dealing with deputy Minister Paulus Kapia swiftly and decisively.

An indecisive leader is a weak leader. A leader who cannot make tough decisions for the sake of preserving the greater good for the people and our republic is a weak leader. One wonders if Kapia is covered by the Nujoma protection insurance policy and therefore untouchable? The question then remains whether Pohamba is his own man? How can he look us in the eye and tell us that he will root out the evils of corruption yet he doesn’t have the guts to remove Kapia for infringing on and violating the people’s trust by placing N$30 million dollars of the people’s monies into the hands of a phantom company on which he was one of the directors? This is not the Eurocentrics, colonialists or imperialists singing in the choir by day and robbing the church by night. It is the self-anointed righteous preacher who claimed to hold the Namibian people’s interest at heart while defrauding and impoverishing them in the dark. How sad is that? You can fool some of the people but not all of the people.I have known all along that your hot-air rhetoric was nothing but a front to secure your meal ticket.I am calling for Kapia to do the honourable thing and resign. Also, the current SSC staff in the hierarchy should be sent packing and replaced immediately. The President should put a halt to this notion of jobs for comrades and find qualified competent citizens regardless of their political origin to lead the SSC.No question that the current and past managers proved to be incompetent. How do you allocate N$30 million dollars to just anyone without any background knowledge of their financial standing or collateral assets to protect the interest of the lender.Isn’t it amazing how these people continue to keep their day jobs amidst this kind of mediocrity?
