Can Nampost Explain Parcel Problems?

ON June 12 my daughter, Annabel, turned one and to mark the joyous occasion relatives in England and Japan sent gifts.

None actually arrived. Until yesterday.A small package from her Japanese grandmother finally turned up.It had been sent by air mail more than nine weeks ago.A note attached to it explained that the parcel had been opened. The curious thing about the package, apart from the fact that it would have been quicker to ship it by dugout canoe, was that it contained photographs of a dog called Boomer, a young lady named Kana standing in front of a castle, a couple called Kelly and Pascal, a chap called Fernand sitting next to Kana and Sarah, and an incredibly blurred shot of a cat in an ornamental flower cart.I’d be grateful if Nampost could explain who these people and animals are, why their photos were inserted into my daughter’s parcel, and why it took two and a half months to arrive.I’d also like to know what on earth has happened to all Annabel’s other birthday presents.Hugh Paxton WindhoekUntil yesterday.A small package from her Japanese grandmother finally turned up.It had been sent by air mail more than nine weeks ago.A note attached to it explained that the parcel had been opened. The curious thing about the package, apart from the fact that it would have been quicker to ship it by dugout canoe, was that it contained photographs of a dog called Boomer, a young lady named Kana standing in front of a castle, a couple called Kelly and Pascal, a chap called Fernand sitting next to Kana and Sarah, and an incredibly blurred shot of a cat in an ornamental flower cart.I’d be grateful if Nampost could explain who these people and animals are, why their photos were inserted into my daughter’s parcel, and why it took two and a half months to arrive.I’d also like to know what on earth has happened to all Annabel’s other birthday presents.Hugh Paxton Windhoek
