Calling all poets – Spoken Word presents ‘Open Mic Night’

Are you an aspiring poet, a budding wordsmith or a weaver of word wonder? If you’ve always wanted to show off your lyrical prowess on the Spoken Word Namibia stage, now’s your chance!

This Wednesday, 2 November, Spoken Word Namibia will host their annual ‘Open Mic Night’.

“As an open mic show, it will allow members of the public and poetry enthusiasts to sign up to perform, right before the doors open,” read a statement from the organisation.

“We have already secured a number of A-list poets to anchor the show and to ensure some great performances.”

Some of the anchor poets include Anne ‘MissAnne’ Hambuda, Harry ‘MC Harry’ Msimuko and Keith Vries, while Khadijah Mouton will be the MC for the evening.

The show will also feature a musical act, upcoming Namibian rapper Nga-I, who is a new sensation on the lyrical hip-hop scene.

The show takes place at the Warehouse Theatre. Doors open at 19h30 and the show will start at 20h00.

For more information on signing up as well as ticket prices, contact Spoken Word Namibia on Facebook or Twitter.
