The arts ministry has opened the call for applications for interested individuals to serve on the National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) board.
Deputy director of arts in the ministry M’kariko Amagulu said the process was necessitated by the changes brought about by the Public Enterprise and Governance Act 1 of 2019, which changed the process of how board of directors should be appointed.
“The board of the NAGN came to an end in May 2021. Since September 2021, the NAGN has been led by an interim board of trustees appointed by the minister of education, arts and culture on the advice of public enterprises.
“This was because of changes instituted by the Public Enterprise and Governance Act 1 of 2019, which changed/superseded the process of filling boards of public enterprises, despite their establishing acts, in this case the National Art Gallery of Namibia Act 14 of 2000,” Amagulu said. – unWrap.online
