Prime minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila chaired a Cabinet meeting on Monday morning to discuss preparations for late founding president Sam Nujoma’s funeral and memorial arrangements.
Nujoma died due to ill health in a Windhoek hospital on Saturday evening.
Presidential press secretary Alfredo Hengari on Monday morning confirmed that the meeting was underway.
“The prime minister is currently chairing a preparatory meeting,” he said.
He said president Nangolo Mbumba will make an announcement after this meeting.
“The public will be informed about any decisions that are taken by the president with regard to the programme,” Hengari said.
