LONDON – Kalahari Minerals’ executive chairman Mark Hohnen has applauded Namibia for its ‘secured and perfect business climate’.

‘Namibia has a very good constituency, and conducive environment for doing business,’ said Hohnen during a breakfast meeting attended by businessmen from Namibia and the United Kingdom (UK) in London on Wednesday.President Hifikepunye Pohamba and Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Hage Geingob also attended the meeting.’We are doing very well in Namibia, and the Namibian Government promised us that our already acquired exploration and mining rights will not be retracted after it announced to change the laws in mining,’ he said.Kalahari Minerals is a London-based company with uranium, gold, copper and other base metal interests in Namibia.It owns Extract Resources Limited, and its main asset is the Husab Uranium Project, located approximately 45 km north-east of Namibia’s main port of Walvis Bay, and has been defined as the fourth-largest uranium deposit in the world.Meanwhile, Vice-President of London-based EnerGulf Resources, Yves Neuville echoed Hohnen’s sentiments, saying Namibia has a conducive atmosphere for doing business, and his company plans to continue exploring for oil and gas in Namibia.EnerGulf Resources Inc, the operator of Block 1711 offshore Namibia, is an international oil and gas exploration company focused on maximising shareholder value by targeting high-impact opportunities for acquisition and development in the world’s most prospective hydrocarbon regions. – Nampa
