Boy drowns in Omusati region

A BOY (13) reportedly drowned after jumping into a well at the Oshilulu village in the Okahao constituency.

The police’s regional commander, commissioner Ismael Basson, said the incident occurred around 15h00 on Sunday.

According to Basson, the boy was looking after goats at a grazing area with two other children at the time of the incident.

“The other two minors allegedly went to turn back the goats, and when they came back they found that he had removed his clothes and jumped into the well, and he never came back out,” he said.

Basson said the deceased has been identified as Sakeus Mbwalala Shigwedha.

His body was retrieved by community members.

Police investigations continue.
