The body of Lukas Shillimungweni (28) was recovered near the Swakopmund Mole on Saturday afternoon by the Marshall Rangers.

Shillimungweni drowned after jumping off the Swakopmund jetty five days ago in an apparent attempt to take his own life.

The incident happened in front of restaurant staff who wanted to talk him out of it but failed.

This recovery occurred just a day after another body was found at the Walvis Bay Waterfront on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Bradley Abjatar (24) from Windhoek, was found by a Catamaran Charter employee.

Chief inspector Ileni Shapumba says Abjatar’s body was discovered with a backpack containing a wallet and a large stone.

He had left Windhoek on 7 September, leaving behind a message that he would not return.
