Big Brother Amplified: From You To Us!

Is it now a way of flinging accusations left, right and centre when something ends up on the wrong side of some people’s expectations? Be objective (fair) to oneself and to others! I’m also a fan of Big Brother and had not expected Wendall to win until the last four – five days. I was in for a big surprise when I saw Luclay being called by IK (during the finale). I secretly hoped that there was a twist other than leaving the winners on the benches, but no, the reality struck me with disappointment and left me near to tears. I re-watched the last few days to make myself understand the situation and eventually I did. If one has really to look at how Luclay had been behaving, especially the last month, one can understand where /how he may have lost some fans. Also analyse how Wendall conducted himself during the same period. If one is objective enough, one will see where/how Wendall may have added fans to vote for him. One occasion that I started to look at him from a different angle was when Sharon O told him that other housemates suspected him of rigging his walking distance. He took it graciously and didn’t make a scene out of it; the way he showed Vimbai that he was not interested in a serious relationship, the way he communicated with especially Karen, while the other housemates kept themselves sort of aside from her (during the last few days).Wendall made his voice rightly heard at the right time – all of this may have gathered some objective fans, who do not only look for entertainment (Luclay’s style), from him. I also couldn’t understand how Lomwe and Sharon O survived up to the Final 5. But anyway they made it there with their arrogance and pride!I agree some reshuffling of some rules need to be implemented. What and which ones I think needs some research and recommendations. The other issue is what should be done when a housemate refuses to take part in an activity that is meant for ALL. Let BB or voters air their view in this respect. The mere fact that a housemate is selected to represent their country in such a big event makes them a winner. Winning is not only monetary, but also experience (the best teacher), exposure and self-marketing – a ‘win’ to me. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS WHO WON. I am especially happy for Karen, the queen! She really gained a lot from this experience and she knows how to play the game! BBA is a game and one needs to able to play it. It’s not always the best player who wins, but the one who knows the rules of the game.- BBA fan, Ongwediva- Thanks for sharing your views with us. Just a minor technical observation: although many fans see it that way, housemates are not official representatives of their countries. I agree that the mere fact of being chosen to take part in the show is a win for those involved! – Jean Sutherland* You can SMS us at 99902; or e-mail us at bba@namibian.com.naFollow your housemateIn addition to the Twitter handles for Amplified housemates provided last week, we have two more for those of you on the micro-blogging site:•Danny: @dannykassa•Luclay: @kingotono
