Big Brother Africa: Who’s fooling who?

SO, who’s fooling who? Are the moles making progress in unsettling Richiana and finding Ofunneka’s weak spots or are the remaining three housemates onto their game and playing reverse psychology on them? One thing is certain – the remnants of so-called ‘Big 5’ are in a state of confusion.

They suspect the moles but have no proof to verify their suspicions. And, of course, they’re not sure what the plot is.For all they know, they could really be housemates from a parallel Big Brother house.So what to do? For now, they’ve chosen to be very careful around them.SUSPICIOUS MINDS Tuesday night was one for the two groups to analyse their strategies.Richiana and Ofunneka retired to the former boys’ room, now occupied by Richiana, to discuss the moles while the moles, Ashanti and Victor, went into the girls’ bedroom to do their own update on the goings-on since they’ve entered the house.Ofunneka led the discussion with her suspicions that the actions of the moles were too ‘contrived’: “It’s just too obvious.You don’t start attacking people on your third day in the house.”She then went on to enumerate the missiles that the moles had thrown at them.First, it was Victor’s comment to Tatiana that he liked Tatiana’s smile and then quickly apologising to Richard, “hoping he didn’t mind”.Then it was Victor massaging Tatiana’s feet.Then the kiss incident when Victor told Tatiana that Richard kissed Ashanti.To add insult to the already fragile feelings of the housemates, Ashanti told Ofunneka that she didn’t like her cooking.What the hell, Ofunneka asked her colleagues, commenting that something was not right.Richard then turned to Tatiana and reminded her that he had told her to be careful around them.He said even when he had kissed Ashanti, the two moles had gone outside to discuss it and he was sure they were plotting who was going to tell Tati about it – but that didn’t stop him from lying to Tati about it initially, until his bluff was called.Richard then launched into a scathing attack on Victor, saying that “by the time he leaves, he shall have dreadlocks.He doesn’t know me.Today was a just a preview”.Victor must be quivering in his boots! Richard’s tantrum was sparked by a confrontation with Victor over his having told Tatiana about the kiss.Victor had told him to buzz off.Tatiana then brought in the Biggie aspect, saying she was very suspicious of Biggie as well.She said during her diary room session, he had asked things like: “Are they asking you many questions? What do you think about it?” She said this was so unlike Biggie because he seemed to be fishing for something.It would seem Biggie will have to up his game if he doesn’t want his plan to be discovered.Richiana-ekka can smell a rat but just can’t put their finger on it yet.I guess it’s a matter of time.MOLES UPDATE EACH OTHER We now switch to the other bedroom, where the moles had retired to discuss whether their plan was working.Ashanti asked Victor whether he thought the trio had fallen for the whole mole strategy.Victor thought that they had.She was more sceptical, saying Richiana might have but that Ofunneka had not yet bought into it.They then proceeded to pat each other on the back for a job well done over the afternoon’s happenings.This was the kissing incident that resulted in Richiana having another one of their …SIGH …frat spats.GREASE MONKEY FIGHT The one good thing that seems to have come out of the moles unsettling the couple is the fact that Richiana have suddenly had to learn to deal with their issues without resorting to shouting matches.On Tuesday night, there was potential for a good Richiana fight which Ofunneka would have been called to referee if it had been last week, but now they have somehow learnt to deal with the situation with a few kisses and soothing words.What happened? Well, Richard opened a packet of potato chips and started eating whilst sitting on the bed.He was later joined by Ofunneka.Tatiana kept telling Richard not to let the crumbs fall on the bed because he was eating straight from the packet.He didn’t seem to mind that the bed might end up full of crumbs and that it would have to be dusted and remade.Ofunneka had a plate.You just know how Tatiana loves to educate her man at every opportunity.She kept telling him to mind how he was eating, not to mess the bed and so on.In the end, Richard stopped eating and went to wash his hands.He was back within a minute.Tatiana was unhappy with the quickness of the hand washing.”Did you wash your hands with soap or did you just rinse them,” she asked.Richard didn’t answer.So she barked at him to go and wash his hands with soap, Richard replied that he had.She didn’t believe him and insisted, telling him he was not going to touch her if his hands smelt of fat (from the chips).Tati then proceeded to smell Richard’s hands and declared that they smelt of chip grease.She then turned to Ofunneka saying she knew him so well, “even when he uses the toilet he doesn’t wash his hands, he just rinses them”.Richard shouted back at her asking whether she was now saying that every time he came from the toilet, he smelt of ‘s**t’.Tatiana, realising that this was going to turn into a full-fledged quarrel, changed her tactics and became softer, kissing him and asking him nicely to go and wash his hands and brush his teeth.She basically placated him in the same way you do to a child and he eventually went to wash his hands and brush his teeth.Ai, some men!
