Big Brother Africa: Time to get voting and keep Meryl in the game

Big Brother Africa: Time to get voting and keep Meryl in the game

SOME love her and some love to hate her! Our girl Meryl has caused no shortage of controversy in the BBA house.

If she is not dancing, kissing the boys, displaying her remarkably flexible limbs or laughing in her trademark raucous way, then she’s snuggling up to Kwaku in bed, bikini-clad and dancing in the Jacuzzi or catching a quick smoke in the garden. One thing you can say for certain about Meryl is that she is definitely not boring. In fact, I personally think that the show cannot afford to lose her.Can you just imagine what the house would be like? Who would cook, would all the housemates starve? Who would cause us to gasp and shake our heads in a mixture of shock and awe? Certainly not Maureen.I think if Meryl is evicted this Sunday, viewers may just switch to another channel out of sheer boredom. Many have criticised Meryl for her seductive behaviour but, come on, let’s face it, we all secretly love living vicariously through her.She gets a lot of flak for her behaviour but it just goes to show how hypocritical some viewers can be.Meryl is not married, like Richard, or in a serious relationship, like Tatiana and Maxwell. She is young and single. What is there to stop her having as much fun as she possibly can? Maureen, Richard and Meryl are all up for possible eviction this week. The three-way split makes the voting process quite tricky.Given that a lot of people are voting countries, rather than players, East African countries (Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya) are likely to vote similarly and because of the fact that Maureen and Richard hail from East Africa, chances are that they will vote to evict Meryl.Botswana too – after the now infamous spat between Meryl and the debating-obsessed, short-tempered, chauvinistic Justice – will in all probability, vote to evict Meryl also. That puts it at four possible country votes for Meryl. We are certainly in a tight spot, but as they say, it ain’t over till the fat lady sings! As Namibians, we should vote strategically. That means voting with our heads and not our hearts. We should keep our own girl in the house for as long as possible – for the viewers’ sake! Richard and Meryl are eliciting a strong reaction – both good and bad – from viewers across the continent: Richard for his two-timing ways and Meryl for her raucous behaviour. They seem to be the two most controversial figures in the house.Maureen, bless her heart, has not received much of a reaction one way or the other.Whether this means that we should vote Maureen out or cash in on some of Africa’s anger towards BB’s resident cheater Richard is up for debate.Vote for the housemate you want to see EVICTED from the Big Brother House this Sunday.Send an SMS with the words ‘VOTE RICHARD’ or ‘VOTE MAUREEN’ or to the number 15626, to evict either Maureen or Richard. One thing you can say for certain about Meryl is that she is definitely not boring. In fact, I personally think that the show cannot afford to lose her.Can you just imagine what the house would be like?
