Big Brother Africa: Sheila To Promote Sisterhood

Big Brother Africa: Sheila To Promote Sisterhood

SHE came close, but not close enough. Sheila made the final five but in the end it was her romantic interest, Uti, who walked away with the US$200 000. Nevertheless, 25-year-old Sheila Kwamboka says she’s happy about how BBA All Stars ended on Sunday evening.

The Kenyan will be remembered for her nonchalant attitude to life, her openness about her bisexuality and of course her saucy girl-on-girl, freaky Friday episode with Meryl in the house. The Namibian caught up with Sheila after the finale on Sunday.Sheila, how do you feel to finally be a part of the outside world again? I’m happy and I love how the show ended. How was this experience different from your previous BBA experience?Well, this time round I kind of knew what to expect as I had insight and wider insight of what the public expect from the housemates. If anything, this experience allowed me to be more free. I learned a lot from sharing a house with 13 other strong willed individuals and I believe I have built real friendships with all of them. To sum it all up, it was, on the whole, a fantastic experience. In the house, you confessed your feelings for Uti. Do you truly have feelings for Uti, and now that the game is over, what are your expectations?Yes, it’s true that I have feelings for Uti, just like I told him in the house. I sort of fell in love with Uti during our first BBA season already but it was hard for me to confess and unfortunately I mentioned it to Hannington, which is why I eventually ended up telling Uti himself as well. What I feel for Uti is bigger than the game and we definitely have a lot to talk about at the moment. Whatever happens will happens, but our friendship comes first though.Where to from here for Sheila?I have a lot of things that I want to do, but first of all I want to pursue my music career. I’m also a writer thus I also want to concentrate on my writing and I want to go back to university as well. I would also like to start up a sort of African Union initiative to do with women issues and how we as women relate to each other. This initiative to try and help women to build each other up instead of breaking each other down as is the case in many communities today. It will basically promote sisterhood. I mean if men appreciate us, why can’t we as women appreciate each other as well.
