Big Brother Africa: Richard, Tatiana, Kwaku are up for eviction

WE’RE in the thick of week 10 in the Big Brother Africa reality show and while some may question whether it is still providing as much entertainment as it used to, there are those who are more hooked than ever.

One thing is for sure, no other Big Brother has produced as many couples as this one. BBA2 has gone further than any other reality show – producing a love triangle and an adulterous affair! Can it get any more enticing? On Monday night the game moved up a notch or two in terms of the ‘Big 5’ or ‘Boring 5’, depending on where your sympathies lie, when the remaining housemates took to the diary room to nominate among themselves to have another member of the group evicted. How the Nominations Went: * Code voted for Kwaku and Tatiana, saying that Tatiana was a strong contender for the prize.Kwaku was nominated because Code felt that his connection with him had faded to a point of no return.* Richard nominated Code and Kwaku, claiming that Kwaku separated himself from the group during their most recent tasks. He nominated Code because he felt Code gossiped unfairly about him to other Housemates.”When I’m with him sometimes, he talks about others …and from what I know about that, if someone talks about others to you, they will talk about you to others.”* Kwaku put up Richard and Maureen. He said he wasn’t impressed with Richard’s leadership (as Head of House) last week.”General irrational behaviour [from Richard], that as Head of House, you should be able to put aside …finish your leadership with flying colours.”Kwaku also said that he nominated Richard because he told Bertha to shut up last week.He nominated Maureen because he felt that she didn’t contribute to group tasks.* Maureen chose Richard and Kwaku, saying Richard was too childish and selfish. She said Kwaku looked lonely without Bertha.* Tatiana voted for Kwaku and Ofunneka. She said Ofunneka was not attached to anyone (as a couple) in the House.”It’s difficult for me because we share so much together …even more than I share with Maureen.”* Ofunneka nominated Code and Kwaku, saying Kwaku had lost the two people closest to him and seemed lonely.”He seems to be withdrawing …keeping to himself.”She chose Code because she said as Head of House he could save himself. As it stood, Kwaku, Richard and Code were originally nominated – emerging with the most votes. But Code, having won the position of Head of House for the week, was given the opportunity to replace anyone of the nominees with a choice of his own.Obviously the guzzling Code decided to save himself and decided put Tatiana’s head on the chopping block instead.Richard and Tatiana have drawn mixed reactions from viewers across Africa. While some have nothing but scorn for the two-timing lovers, others think they are more romantic and star-crossed than Romeo and Juliet.Still, Rich has a wife outside the house, and in the Penthouse last week expressed the desire to leave as he felt he was hurting her by his actions. The two are once again up for possible eviction together, as their relationship becomes more and more intense – will the public continue to support their immoral yet intense relationship? Kwaku, as one of the last of the ‘Untouchables’, is also up for possible eviction – along with Richard and Tatiana. While some have taken issue with the Ghanaian’s fake American accent, others for the most part are rather ambivalent towards him.His good looks, hot body and laid-back demeanour have managed to keep him in the house so far, and although some of his former ‘Untouchable’ homies seem to think he’s in with a chance of winning the US$100 000, the odds – as one of the last remaining T-Unit members – seem slim but one never knows in a game like this.* Catch BBA2 on Channel 198, DStvBBA2 has gone further than any other reality show – producing a love triangle and an adulterous affair!
