Big Brother Africa: Postcards from the edge!

OK, OK! It’s double feature day: All the news that’s fit to print, or not, on Richiana and RichRicki, PLUS the ‘Untouchables’.

BBA winner Richard and his Canadian wife Ricki have made a dash for the wild in an apparent bid to sort out their differences, IF latest news reports are accurate. Whether it includes sorting out Tatiana is a whole other matter. And where the truth lies only Richard knows. At the same time as the report indicating that RichRicki are bushwhacking and maybe even lipsmacking, The Bongo Sun in Tanzania reports that Ricki is still in hiding and that Richard is still in Richiana mode, staying in contact with Tatiana. And if there are any of you who still have doubts whether Richiana ‘did IT’ in the house, an article from Angola quotes Tati as saying they used a condom! Of course, what they used a condom for could be a whole other ball game! I mean they might have been making water bombs for all we know 🙂 The Bongo Sun (just love the name!) says the row between Richard and Ricki is still “simmering” despite Richard reportedly saying that everything is OK.On Monday, South Africa’s City Press reported that for now RichRicki appear to have ‘made up’ despite disapproval from Richard’s family about their continued relationship. The newspaper reports that Richard’s dad, Vincent, said the couple had spent time in Tanzania’s wildlife sanctuary at Ngorongoro Crater, ironing out their differences. The elder Bezuidenhout, however, said if Ricki’s latest about-turn was because of Richard’s millions, she was in for a shock. He said he had agreed with Richard and the rest of the family to open a joint fixed-deposit account from which they would only access the winner’s cheque of US$100 000 (R683 000) after 12 months.”I know I will get a lot of criticism from the outside world on why I am interfering with my son’s money but look here, I am an African and we have a way of doing our own things her,” City Press quotes him as saying.Vincent said his son had been brought up according to strict African customs where the son respects family values, the report adds.’THAT RICKI’ Ricki has previously said she was close to Richard’s family, but there appears to have been a sea change – or should it be a dollar deflection! – in the relationship.Richard’s father is now openly expressing doubts about Ricki’s motives.”We still doubt she is honest about her sudden about-turn.We think her motive is greed but we are not stupid. We won’t release a single cent until after a year and this we agreed as a family, including Richard,” City Press quotes him as saying.Richard’s father said his son had many endorsements in the pipeline and would survive on that for the time being.”As far as Ricki is concerned, we left it in the hands of Richard to decide – but this woman is bad news. She left Richard in the lurch while enjoying herself in her native country, Canada.”She told the world she was done with Richard and we wonder about the motive behind the sudden change of heart,” he said, according to City Press. When Richard returned to Tanzania, the Bezuidenhouts rallied around Richard, accusing Ricki of being dishonest and not supporting her husband. They reportedly insisted that Richard should divorce Ricki.THE NORTH Seems Bertha, aka B, turned out to be something of a surprise package during the ‘Untouchables’ visit to the North over the weekend.Even some of those who have been wary of the Zimbabwean housemate say she was all charm, friendly and that nothing was too much for her when it came to fan requests – from photos to chatting with them! And I knew I should never have written an article called ‘In bed with Kwaku’! Everyone wants in now!! The Ghanaian charmer seems to be drawing groupies like moths to a flame – he can’t set foot out the door, or should it be out of bed, without women wanting …let’s leave it at that …WANTING!!
