Big Brother Africa 4: The weekend that wasn’t

EISH BBA nation, by the time you read this all of Namibia’s housemates may have been purged from the house.

Both twins, Edward and Erastus, and Rene are in the mix this week. The other one was, of course, she of great drama, Paloma.Have to say it’s a byatch of a downer.Quite honestly, would personally not have liked to see any four of this week’s ‘nominees’ leave. One would have been bad enough, but three!!Wherever there’s fun in the house, you’re likely to find the twins. Wherever there’s drama in the house, you’re likely to find Paloma and Rene. They all infuse life, in one way or the other, into a house which has more than its fair share of bystanders this year. You could swear that some housemates are playing hide and seek and have forgotten to come out.Leonel, Geraldine and Nkenna, among others, seem to perpetually lurk on the sidelines.I mean, someone should have checked their sell-by dates before they entered the house. THE LIBERATION OF HANNINGTONOK people, just the quickest of updates.•Seems Smellington (Hanny)has been transformed into Washington!South Africa’s Liz went where no other man or woman in the house has dared to tread – she pulled Hannington, aka Smellington, aside and, in a very kind way, told him that people were experiencing problems with his ‘natural after shave’.Hannington took it well, but retired into his shell for about 24 hours.Since then though, it’s been all va-va voom! It’s as though ‘I’m a god among men’ has been reborn. Might just also have something to do with him getting close to Liz, although Liz says she thinks Hanny fancies Kristal.•M-Net Face of Africa winner Kate Menson spent the weekend in the house, and seemed to have a blast. Even Quinn, who generally seems to pimp around on the sidelines of any action, was seduced into being more vocal than usual and couldn’t stop shouting out goodnight to the leggy Kate. Wonder if she’s also the reason Quinn seemed to think he was a walking advert for y-fronts all weekend.Whenever I checked in on the house, there was the Q-boy in his white ‘y’s’ in various stages of animation.•Itai won the head of house task on Friday – some sort of general knowledge quiz on Africa.•Outgoing head of house Elizabeth kept on having torrential downpours over the upcoming eviction last night, angsting over the switch she’d made – she saved Liz and put up one of the twins in the South African’s place. She kept on muttering that she should have put herself up. Shem! And that’s the way the cookie crumbles, peeps.Nominations again today.Stay tuned!* Tune in to DStv Channel 198 or 199 to catch the action live 24/7, or watch the daily highlights show on M-Net (DStv Channel 101/102) and AfricaMagic (DStv Channel 114) every day at 18h30. Weekly highlights will also be aired on NBC, every Saturday from 21h15 – 22h15.
